Project REEFrame is a community programme with the objective of protecting and restoring coastal ecosystems in the UAE. Our most urgent focus is to preserve our coral reef heritage, which is under serious threat from repetitive ocean warming events, sedimentation, ocean acidification, and marine pollution.

We rescue naturally broken coral fragments from the sea floor before they get buried in the sand and die, then nurture them into larger coral colonies that can be planted on the Project REEFrame artificial reefs, or back onto the natural reefs to effect repairs.

Your sponsorship of a coral helps us to fund this important and labour intensive work. We will rescue a coral fragment and plant it on our nursery tables, then provide the care it needs to grow into a larger colony that can help ensure this beautiful natural resource will still be present for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.

We track the progress of all the corals as part of our scientific monitoring programme and the results are shared with our partners at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment as well as the Fujairah Environment Authority.
