Sea Erosion as carefully carved these caves deep into the face of the limestone rock. They are not visible from the surface but can be found close to Khor Mala. At Ras Sannat they are visible but the entrance here i 60m from the exit. The main chamber is around 15-20m in length. This is a shallow dive and lies at around 10m depth so is a great final dive to the day. This site is fantastic for snorkelers who can duck dive into the entrance to the cave and experience the limestone formation inside.
What can we see?
Keep an eye out for resting sharks or stingrays on the sandy bottom and use your torch to find cleaner shrimp in the outcroppings. Swim through curtains of cardinal fish and look out for lobsters! Shine your torch to see the recesses at the back of the main chamber. The caves also makes for a great night dive!
The Caves is a perfect addition to Lima Rock on a two tank dive trip!
